November 7-11

Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures
Thank you to all families for obeying the traffic signs posted in our “Kiss and Ride” pick up and drop off loop.  There is NO PARKING anywhere within that loop.  If you drive and use the loop you are prohibited from leaving the driver side of your car.  The easiest and safest way to drop off or pick up your child(ren) is to walk to school.  Since Beckett Farm PS is a walking school (no school busses) the best parking spot is on your own driveway.
Walking is a healthy and environmentally friendly way to get to and from school.
Please remember our staff members are here to keep you and your child(ren) safe.  please listen to and obey their instructions. Care consideration and respect goes a long way!

Remembrance Day At Beckett Farm
Students at Beckett Farm are preparing for the Remembrance Day Service on Friday, November 11th, 2016. Our JK to Grade 8 assembly will be from 10:30 – 11:15 AM in the gym. The school will observe a moment of silence in Remembrance of those who have participated and lost their lives in conflicts around the world at 11 AM. Please feel free to join us as we pay tribute to our War Veterans as well as reflect on our Universal Message for World Peace. Seating will be limited in the gym due to the large student population. Poppies, courtesy of the Canadian Legion will be distributed to the students and we are asking for a contribution of a loonie from each child, which we will give to the Canadian Legion to support our Veterans.

Junior Achievement Program
The Grade 7s (Nov. 10) and Grade 8s (Nov. 17) will partake in the Junior Achievers programs. This financial literacy program is designed to inspire students to understand their potential, set life goals and succeed at school and in business. Beckett Farm has partnered with dedicated volunteers who bring the “real world” into the classroom. Junior Achievers empowers students to make smart, lifelong financial choices. Through the financial literacy program students will learn how to create and manage wealth. They develop skills in areas such as budgeting, investing, and creating financial plans
