Thanksgiving Holiday: No School On Monday October 9, 2017
Thanksgiving in Canada is celebrated on the second Monday of October each year and it’s an official statutory holiday. The origins of Canadian Thanksgiving are also sometimes traced to the French settlers who came in the 17th century, who celebrated their successful harvests. For many Canadian families the holiday is about getting together with family. We wish all our Beckett Families a wonderful thanksgiving weekend.

Drivers, please obey the following rules:
- The bus loop is for school busses only and is closed to all cars.
Kiss and Ride drop off area:
- Pull your car as far forward in the yellow zone as possible before unloading students.
- Students are only permitted to exit from the right side (passenger side) of the car.
- Drivers MUST NOT leave their car unattended.
- No parking in the Kiss and Ride at any time it is a no parking fire zone.
- Once you drop off your child, please follow the flow of cars and do not sit to watch.
- Obey teachers and staff on duty, they are there to help you and your children.
- If you do not have time to wait in the loop, drop your child off on the side streets so they can walk to school.
- If you must leave your car, park a block away and walk in.

If you have not already sent a completed consent form to York Region Public Health, please do so now using the attached form. Detailed instructions on how to complete and submit the form can be found on the form and accompanying letter. If a completed consent form is not received, your child will not be able to be vaccinated at the clinic.
Under the Immunization of School Pupils Act, meningococcal vaccine is required for school attendance, unless an exemption is filed. Hepatitis B and HPV vaccines are recommended, but not required for school attendance.
Parents and guardians who do not consent should still complete the forms and return them, indicating that you do not authorize York Region Public Health to immunize your child.
