Curriculum Night

Oct 3, 6:30-7:30pm

Families please join us on October 3, 2018, for a meet and greet with our educators at Beckett Farm PS. This will be an opportunity for you to visit your child’s classroom and enjoy a short presentation from your child’s educators regarding the curriculum and the learning that is happening this year! It will also provide an opportunity for you to meet and greet all the wonderful educators involved in your child’s learning this year.  There will be 2 presentations that will be exactly the same, one from 6:30-7 and the other from 7-7:30. This allows for those families with more than one child to attend multiple sessions.

We Need Your Help to Recognize and Celebrate here at Beckett Farm PS! Please visit us in the foyer where our student ambassadors will be there to help you get involved and engaged in our school community events! We need our families to help us celebrate and recognize special days and events throughout the year- whether it be helping to create announcements for the school, setting up displays around the school, reading stories to our students to any other ways you would like to get involved!

Please see the flyer for more details on curriculum night.

In November 2018, York Region District School Board will invite all students to participate in the Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS). The purpose of this census survey is to better understand YRDSB’s diverse student population as well as students’ experiences in school and outside of school.

Families with a child in Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be invited to complete the survey online with their child at home.

Students in Grades 7-12 will be invited to complete the survey online during class time. If you are a parent/guardian of child(ren) in Grades 7-12 and do not want them to participate in the survey, please contact CCI Research at 1-866-450-4907 no later than October 9, 2018.

The surveys are voluntary and confidential. Information about the surveys and the process is available at www.yrdsb.ca/escs. This important initiative will help us work together to create equitable and inclusive school environments.

Please see the letter that was sent home last week on September 25.
